In 2020 online learning for children became the norm rather than the exception. Some of them thrived in this environment and a lot of parents discovered that the screen can be useful for more than games and TV.
We have, for many years, helped children from all over the world to become fluent in the English language, as well as supporting some to manage the subject better at school. And we would like to give you some recommendations based on our experience which we hope you agree with.
We recommend shorter sessions centred in speaking. Communicating in a different language after a long school day is hard work!! So we recommend sessions “little and often”, broken up into 25 minutes 1 or 2 times a week.
We offer mainly 2 ways of learning;
- through chatting and play; songs, games, storytelling and other fun activities focused on topics they like and are interested in.
- and a more formal version that will enhance what is learnt in school if they need support with the subject. However we aim to deliver it in a more dynamic way, not following a book page by page.

How does it work?
After you contact us we usually have an initial meet and greet video call where we discuss the details. During the first few sessions we assess their level of understanding. We agree on their needs and formulate an initial plan that will continue to develop as we get to know them. Regular sessions are then organised.
We use various videoconferencing platforms for the session along with email and digital resource systems in the cloud or on websites to share documents, exercises, videos, readings, etc.
How are we different?
We are used to face-to-face classes with a very standard format; the student sits and listens, the teacher talks. But it doesn’t have to be like that. The key is to use the language as much as possible.
We spend a lot of time asking them questions to get to know their preferences and adapt our content, but also so they get a chance to practice talking about themselves in English. They will learn as native speakers do, getting their ears and mouth used to different sounds.
